Going Beyond Diversity and Inclusion

In the short amount of time that we've been open, our goal has been to do everything in our power to support, uplift and empower our community within our four walls and into our city. Archer is still new and we are still learning. We understand that there is a lot of work to be done to make sure that everyone in our country and world is treated equally and we are hoping to be a part of that change.

From day one, we have implemented hiring and employment practices that are seldom seen in the nail industry, partnered with four amazing charities which we donate to through our services and products purchased, and have provided aid for education through a scholarship program for nail technician licensing. However, we understand that this is not enough. Over the course of the last month, our team has come together to make some changes to the way in which we are impacting our community. We will be adding a fifth charity to our portfolio, donating 20% of proceeds of retail sales to directly affect change for the black community in the Bay Area. We have dedicated at least 30% of our scholarship program to applicants of color, helping change the number of black and BIPOC nail artists in the industry. And lastly, we have pledged to make a more conscious effort to amplify and promote black and BIPOC nail artists and small business owners on our social media and in our shops.

While we are still a small business, and a business that began just weeks before a global pandemic, we believe that we can still cause ripples that turn into larger waves in our community. The ways in which we are giving back, listening, learning and amplifying BIPOC voices is just the beginning.
